A petty-knife is a slender, versatile Japanese style kitchen knife, typically featuring a blade length ranging from 4 to 6 inches (100 to 150 mm). It’s similar in shape to a paring knife but has a more delicate profile. Petty knives are often used for precision tasks like peeling, trimming, or intricate cutting. They are ideal for smaller fruits, vegetables, and delicate tasks that require greater control. The blade’s sharpness and light weight make it a popular go-to knife in both home and professional kitchens.
NOTE - Carbon steel will patina over time so requires a little care to keep it looking at its best. I supply care instructions with every knife sent out.
