8" True feather pattern chef/slicer with stabilised curly sycamore handle.
The blade on this truly unique chef/slicer knife is forged out of a carbon steel true feather patten billet using 15N20 & 1084 steel. The if I were to rate the technically of this pattern I would give it a solid 10 as not only do you have to take the time to create the perfect feather in the steel, you also have to then frame it in a mono steel (1084) and then forge it in such a way that it brings life and movement to the pattern.
For the handle I have chosen a stunning piece of local curly sycamore that I have stabilised to insure durability and then added some brass and G10 decorative spacers along with my fancy 5 pin for good measure.
The knife is perfectly balanced at the handle/tang transition and specifications are as follows -
Blade 200mm from heal to tip
49mm depth at the heal
Weight 129g
The spin is 2.9mm and has a gentle taper to 1.5mm (50mm from the tip) and then continues all the way to 0 at the tip. This blade also has a slight compound (S-Grind) and some flex at the tip.
HRC 60 (approx)
NOTE - Carbon steel will patina over time so requires a little care to keep it looking at its best. I supply care instructions with every knife sent out.
